Note Regarding Assistantships

Applications for assistantships and hourly positions are accepted and considered year-round as positions become available at any time. However, the peak hiring period is the spring for the upcoming academic year. Priority consideration will be given to graduate students whose academic department or college will provide tuition remission. A limited number of applicants may be eligible for in-state tuition and fee waivers provided by their college or department. Applicants should check with the graduate college or their college/department relative to tuition and fee waiver support. Persons not eligible for assistantships are hired on an hourly basis. Minimum assistantship rates are set by the University. All hires are subject to the availability of University funds. The provision of assistantships is dependent upon your college and approval by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Training is required for all positions. Applicants permitted to work for at least 20 hours per week will receive priority consideration.
